Galveston celebrating Independence Day with parade and fireworks

Galveston's beaches provide the perfect backdrop to Independence Day celebrations with a seaside parade and fireworks display.
The Independence Day celebration is returning this year with floats, military vehicles, and fireworks.
The parade, sponsored by the Marine Corps League, will begin on Sunday, July 4 at 7 p.m. The parade starts on Seawall Blvd at 59th Street and will proceed east to 27th Street, with fireworks to follow at 37th and Seawall.
Seawall Blvd is not anticipated to be closed until approximately 6 p.m., but may close earlier if deemed necessary for public safety. Traffic will be detoured westbound at 25th Street and eastbound at 61st St and Seawall Blvd. The parade will line up at 5:30 PM on 59th St between Seawall Blvd and Avenue T 1/2.
